We’ll be teaching modern bachata which was created from Dominican Bachata, Urban Salsa, and other elements. Modern/Urban bachata focuses on a lateral basic, 4 count turns, many turns, wraps and arm styling such as face loops. This style of bachata is danced to more modern bachata such as Aventura, Prince Royce, etc. However, mainstays from traditional bachata such as the box step, open basic, basic in place, and return step are still used and its important to remember, and respect bachatas roots. Dominican bachata is bachata. Urban bachata is an adaptation from the original.
